Planet of the Apes
set (also
produced by Topps.)
1969 cards
feature images from the film (and not from the TV show.) Conversely,
cards from the 1975 TV show
feature images
from the show and not from the original film.
Also, by
turning the card over one can instantly tell the difference. Cards from
the 1969 set feature text and a
simple
illustration. Cards from the 1975 set feature text and "puzzle piece"
images.
Important note: On the reverses of both
the 1969 Planet of the Apes set and the 1975 Planet of the Apes set,
one will find the
notice "Copyright 1967". This copyright notice pertains to the actual
film and not the year the
card was
released.
